Sunday, Oct. 27

NC State Men’s Soccer vs. Louisville

Join us as the NC State men’s soccer team takes on Louisville! This exciting match is set to deliver high-energy plays and intense competition. Whether you’re a soccer enthusiast or just looking for an engaging way to spend your evening, this game is a perfect chance to support our Wolfpack. Bring your friends and family, don your Wolfpack colors and be part of the thrilling atmosphere.

Monday, Oct. 28

Architecture Lecture: Michael Sørensen

Please join the College of Design for the fall 2024 architecture lecture series. 

Michael Sørensen is a partner and design director at Henning Larsen and co-leads the firm’s U.S. design studio in New York City. With nearly 20 years of experience leading projects from Henning Larsen’s offices in Copenhagen and New York City, Sørensen has been at the helm of several notable buildings and masterplans throughout Scandinavia, Europe and North America, including the Minneapolis Public Service Building, winner of the 2023 AIA Architecture Award, and the Downsview Framework, Canada’s largest development and winner of the 2023 Urban Design Award. Bringing Henning Larsen’s DNA to life, Sørensen leads co-creative design processes defined by research and dialogue to drive innovative, inspiring spaces and places rooted in the communities they serve. A truly global citizen, Sørensen was born in Australia, raised in South Africa and returned to Denmark to complete his architectural studies at the Aarhus School of Architecture before joining Henning Larsen’s practice in Copenhagen in 2006. In 2019, Sørensen and his family relocated from Copenhagen to Brooklyn. Having lived, studied and worked in such diverse cities around the world, Sørensen is inspired by a uniquely global perspective and deep appreciation of the specific contexts, cultures and climates we work within.

Virtual Presentation on Elder Fraud and Scams with David Kirkman

  • When: Monday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m.
  • Where: Virtual

Join the Golden Grads Forever Club as they host David Kirkman, a retired professional from the Consumer Protection Division of the NC Department of Justice in 2017 as a special deputy attorney general. During his 30 years with the Department of Justice, Kirkman worked on cases that ran the gamut from door-to-door salesmen and itinerant driveway paving scammers to cross-border fraud and telemarketing scams. He is the author of “Elder Fraud Wars.” In retirement, he is a dedicated volunteer with AARP NC in their efforts to combat elder fraud and scams. He is a frequent speaker to older adult groups and aging service providers about fraudulent activity.

History of Homecoming Happy Hour and Trivia

  • When: Tuesday, Oct. 29, from 5 to 6 p.m.
  • Where: Virtual

Dive into the rich traditions of homecoming as you craft delicious cocktails using our specially provided recipe cards, curated by Lakeside Kitchen. Each card features easy-to-follow instructions for two drinks inspired by the spirit of NC State. Whether you’re a homecoming pro or a curious newcomer, this event promises a lively mix of knowledge, nostalgia and tasty drinks!

Registrants will be added to a Google calendar invitation that will provide the Zoom link and login information.

NC State Women’s Basketball vs. Anderson (S.C.)

Catch the NC State women’s basketball team as they take on Anderson (S.C.). Fresh off an impressive Final Four run, our Wolfpack is set to bring their championship spirit and high-level play to the court. Don’t miss the chance to see them in action as they build on their recent success.

TexTell: North Carolina Textile Innovation and Sustainability Engine

  • When: Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 12 p.m.

Join the North Carolina Textile Foundation for our upcoming TexTell featuring speakers from the North Carolina Textile Innovation and Sustainability Engine (NCTISE) staff to share more about how it will advance our nation’s capacity for innovations in textiles that maintains a lens of environmental sustainability and with an eye toward circularity.

Spanish Alum and Author Talk and Book Signing

  • When: Tuesday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m.
  • Where: Withers Hall
  • Cost: Free

Join the Department of World Languages and Cultures for an inspirational talk by alumnus David Cancio, who recently co-published his first novel with his dad. Cancio will discuss the importance of studying world languages and cultures and introduce his new novel, Gabriel Lockː Bound by Law, a legal thriller about a bilingual lawyer in 1980s Miami with a particular connection to Latino language and cultures. A book signing will follow the event.

Experience learning without the pressure of exams at Woodson Hall’s Class Without a Quiz and Tour! Join us for an engaging session where you’ll delve into fascinating topics, discover cutting-edge research and explore state-of-the-art facilities of the future. Led by expert faculty, this event offers a unique opportunity to learn in a relaxed and interactive environment. CHASS Learning Lounge

Join NC State Political Scientists Steve Greene and Andy Taylor for an interactive discussion about the 2024 presidential election, followed by tips for managing stress during election season from Psychology Professor Shevaun Neupert. A reception with food and drinks will follow the event.

Miskwa Waya Open Drum Practice

You’re invited to join us for a special gathering with Miskwà Waya, NC State’s student drum group founded in 2014. Our drum continues to resonate on campus as we celebrate our voices and culture. Masquerade Dia de los Muertos

Join us for Masquerade Dia de los Muertos, a special LAN homecoming event for alumni and students. This is a wonderful chance to reconnect with old friends and make new connections while discovering more about William & Company. Your ticket includes a curated drink, a delicious tamale, pan de muerto and an opportunity to meet the William & Company owner and their affiliates. Although masquerade attire is encouraged, it’s not required. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!

NC State Alumni Night: Carolina Hurricanes vs. Boston Bruins Hockey

Lawyers Alumni Society Annual Meeting and CLE

Alumni Memorial Belltower Tour

Tour the NC State Memorial Belltower with Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs Emeritus Tom Stafford ’66. Take a trip inside the Belltower and learn about the history of this campus landmark.

BAS Welcome Reception

  • When: Friday, Nov. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m.

LAN/NAAN Welcome Reception

Join us as we kick off homecoming weekend at the LAN and NAAN Welcome Reception! Light hors d’oeuvres and one complimentary drink will be provided.

Parking information: Aloft Hotel has free parking behind the building. The Ferndell Parking Lot located beside the hotel is also available after 5 p.m. To locate the Ferndell Parking Lot, visit the NC State Transportation map.

Dine With Your Pack

Dine with your Pack as we enjoy great food and even better company! The Office of Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving will provide appetizers for the group, and dinner and drinks will be Dutch treat.

Golden Grads Forever Club: Medallions in the Belltower

Golden Grad Forever Club members have the opportunity to place their medallions in the Memorial Belltower overnight. A tradition unlike any other.

BASFest Tailgate

Cheer on the Wolfpack as they take on the Stanford Cardinal at Carter-Finley Stadium. In addition to the catered menu, everyone is also welcome to bring their favorite tailgate beverage and snacks to share.

Parking and game day tickets are available through NC State Athletics or NC State Athletics’ official ticketing partner, Seat Geek. Please note that parking is not available for sale next to the event space as this event is being held in conjunction with a football game.

LAN/NAAN Tailgate

Wrap up Homecoming with flair and flavor at the Latinx Alumni Network’s exclusive brunch at Lobera! Dive into a delightful array of Latin-inspired dishes, enjoy lively conversations with fellow alumni, and celebrate our community’s achievements and connections. Whether you’re reconnecting with old friends or making new ones, this event promises delicious food, heartfelt camaraderie and a festive atmosphere. NC State Women’s Volleyball vs. Boston College
