Light It Red

Three-time grad (’80 ’84 ’88) and 29-year faculty member Clyde Sorenson has a lot of NC State memories over the last 50 years, but one thing he’s never done is step foot inside the Belltower. All of that will change for him this year when he takes part in the Belltower Tour through Red and White Week, NC State’s annual homecoming tradition.

“As an alum and faculty member, it thrills me to see so many other alums remaining so committed to their alma mater. NC State has been very good to me,” said Sorenson, an Alumni Association Undergraduate Professor of Entomology in the Entomology and Plant Pathology Department. “Virtually every good thing in my life is a direct consequence of my time as a student here, and I love seeing others celebrate their experiences, too.”

Virtually every good thing in my life is a direct consequence of my time as a student here, and I love seeing others celebrate their experiences, too.

Just like the Belltower shines red after a Wolfpack win, the week is a time to come together and show the strength, unity and energy of the Pack. This year’s Red and White Week theme, Light It Red, celebrates that spirit – illuminating campus, traditions and Pack pride.

A Pack-ed Schedule

With more than 60 events across campus for faculty and staff, alumni, students and friends of the Wolfpack, this year’s lineup has several new offerings.

“Red and White Week is when the Wolfpack – alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends – comes together to celebrate what makes NC State special. I love collaborating with incredible colleagues from across campus, along with students and our alumni volunteers, to create moments of connection through a variety of events.” said Chandler Oliver, Director of Engagement Experiences for Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving.

“We celebrate the Wolfpack all year, but this is when our Pack pride truly shines with something for everyone.”
